A few days ago while preparing for my latest newborn shoot (blog post coming soon), I was making a lace crown for baby to wear and my daughter asked if it was for her. Well, guilt set in as I realized that most of my little crafty projects are for photoshoots and while sometimes my daughters get to use them too, I felt the need to make some crowns for them too! They've been gone this week at Grandma's house and I told them I would have a surprise for them when they came home. I'm not sure but I think they are going to be pretty excited to see what I have for them:)
And, just in case you want to make some for the little girl(s) in your life...here is how to do it. The supplies you need are lace (pointy is good), liquid starch, spray paint, wax paper, big glass jar, and a hot glue gun.
I used liquid starch to soak the lace in and pat it off with a paper towel on a piece of wax paper and then wrap it around a big glass jar to dry. I put mine outdoors to dry since it takes no time in this heat and wind we have here. Then, peel the lace off the jar and repeat the process 3-4 times until the lace is nice and rigid. Then, spray paint the lace on both sides the desired color and let it dry. I bought a metallic satin that I think turned out nicely. Hot glue the ends together, you can hand stitch them as well if you want it more secure. And, that's it!
Happy crown making!

Sweet baby K...6 months old...Central Kansas Baby Photographer
This little guy was so expressive and obviously cute! I love that his Mom dressed him in his Uncle's clothes (he was such an awesome guy) and brought his vintage toys too. It adds personal meaning to these photographs and I'm sure little K will learn all about how cool his uncle was! Thanks for sharing your sweet boy with me!
Thanks for looking!
